Principal’s Message:
Welcome to a new school year Lion Family! The 2024-2025 School Year will be my 7th year of leading this great education community. I am humbled to continue to support and lead this great school alongside a great team of educators and support staff who work hard to ensure that our school community receives nothing but high-quality academic instruction. Thanks to this collaborative partnership, culture and climate of positive engagement between our school and our community our students are roaring to academic success and will be “Ready for the World.” This year I am honored and so proud to inform you that our school has moved out of Tier 3 status.
Our goal for this school year we will be to continue to maintain our focus on improving our already rigorous instruction by focusing on Common Core State Standards, using our school’s instructional data to guide our instruction, and Social Emotional Learning with character building. Small Group instruction which allows our teachers to focus on individualized instruction will continue to be the driving force to increase student achievement.
Our Lion Walk to School Program will continue support our efforts to improved student attendance. Students need to be in school so that they can learn. This year we are adding a route starting from Lanzit Street. that will travel north on Belhaven Street.
The 112th Street STEAM Academy Family is eager to begin this amazing school year which will be the best year yet! This year we will be amazing as we continue with awesome partnerships and create new ones as well. Partnerships like, The Love We Don’t See, and Neighborhood Youth Achievers just to name a few. 112th Street will also be using our Cultural Arts Passport funds to enrich our students learning experiences through exposure. If our students can’t go to the place that provides such experiences, we will bring those experience to them.
112th Street STEAM Academy will continue to ensure that everyone who steps through our doors; teachers, students, District Personnel, and parents feel welcomed, respected and excited to be here. This welcoming atmosphere enables us to meet challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing manner. Please remember at 112th Street STEAM Academy, “We are here to serve!” My door is always open. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year. I also welcome any ideas that can improve our students’ educational experience.

¡Bienvenidos a un nuevo año escolar Familia de Leones! El año escolar 2024-2025 será mi séptimo año al frente de esta gran comunidad educativa. Me siento honrado de continuar apoyando y liderando esta gran escuela junto con un gran equipo de educadores y personal de apoyo que trabajan arduamente para garantizar que nuestra comunidad escolar reciba nada más que instrucción académica de alta calidad. Gracias a esta asociación colaborativa, cultura y clima de compromiso positivo entre nuestra escuela y nuestra comunidad, nuestros estudiantes están rugiendo hacia el éxito académico y estarán "listos para el mundo". Este año es un honor y un orgullo informarles que nuestra escuela ha salido del nivel 3.
Nuestro objetivo para este año escolar será continuar manteniendo nuestro enfoque en mejorar nuestra ya rigurosa instrucción enfocándonos en los Estándares Estatales Básicos Comunes, utilizando los datos de instrucción de nuestra escuela para guiar nuestra instrucción y el aprendizaje socioemocional con el desarrollo del carácter. La instrucción en grupos pequeños, que permite a nuestros maestros concentrarse en la instrucción individualizada, seguirá siendo la fuerza impulsora para aumentar el rendimiento estudiantil.
Nuestro programa, “Lion Walk to School” continuará apoyando nuestros esfuerzos para mejorar la asistencia estudiantil. Los estudiantes necesitan estar en la escuela para poder aprender. Este año estamos agregando una ruta que comienza en la calle Lanzit y viajará hacia el norte por Belhaven Street.
¡La familia de 112th Street STEAM Academy está ansiosa por comenzar este increíble año escolar que será el mejor año hasta ahora! Este año seremos increíbles a medida que continuamos con asociaciones increíbles y también creamos otras nuevas. Asociaciones como, “The Love We Don’t See” y “Neighborhood Youth Achievers”, solo por nombrar algunas. 112th Street también utilizará nuestros fondos del Pasaporte de Artes Culturales para enriquecer las experiencias de aprendizaje de nuestros estudiantes a través de la exposición. Si nuestros estudiantes no pueden ir al lugar que ofrece tales experiencias, se las llevaremos.
